Principal's Message

September 2017

Dear Valadez Families,

On September 26, twenty seven Valadez Middle School Academy students displayed leadership by volunteering their time to help facilitate the Second Harvest Food Distribution that took place at Melrose Elementary and Valadez Academy.  This event takes place every month and it is the third year we have participated.  Our teacher Leslie Poling assisted our students to help distribute approximately 10 pallets of fresh produce and USDA food to our parents, students and neighbors in the community.  Statistics indicate that one in five of Orange County students are at risk of hunger, so the impact that these Valadez Academy students had on the community was priceless.  Our students helped in the distribution of the food, helped with the clean-up and worked diligently to prepare the stations before community members entered the event.  Parents walked away with 30-50 pounds of produce and the event was an incredible success.  Don’t forget that this takes place every month and our next scheduled day is Tuesday, October 24.  See you there!
